Your diploma counts as Year 1
The diploma isn't just a certificate to hang on the wall. It carries real, transferable academic credit as a genuine Australian qualification, accepted in more than 140 countries worldwide. Universities in Australia and the UK count it as a full first year of a bachelor's degree, so graduates enter straight into Year 2. English for that transfer is assessed by IELTS, which is not required to start the diploma itself.
