We have four new casually employed ‘Red Shirt USC Students’ operating in the Melbourne Campus. They have been lead by our newly appointed Student Contact Team Leader USC, Sofia Skliros, who is helping our students to gain some valuable work experience skills, while they are studying at ATMC. Our Red Shirts had to apply for this position with a written application, submit their CV and undergo an interview by our Campus Manager to be appointed to their highly prestigious role working directly with students on the ground, listening to their needs, encouraging them when required, and assisting with all their various enquiries throughout their studies when they are rostered on duty.
Our Red Shirts have only been going for a week, and already they have prepared their advertising poster, promoted their presence in the campus, assisted at our Reception, attended team meetings and are learning about Minute Taking for their meetings, and participation in the working environment. They also attended and assisted in setting up a University Work Integrated Learning end of Semester Project Presentation for ATMC ICT students. Next week they will be visiting all the classes to let other students know who they are, and to ensure that our students know they can come to the Red Shirts (who will always be wearing their red ATMC t-shirt while on duty) for any assistance that they may require.
