The Bachelor of Technology consists of 8 core and 4 elective computing courses. Various major streams consisting of 8 courses and minor streams of 4 courses are proposed. Courses for major and minor areas of study will be required to be taken at appropriate levels for the program to be AQF compliant. For example, students would not be able to take more than 8 first year courses and would need to take at least 6 third year courses. Initially, the major and minor areas of study will come from the following areas: Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Games, Multimedia, Mathematics, and Statistics. Future offerings could include majors or minors in Management, Engineering and other areas that are relevant to particular cohorts. The Bachelor of Technology differs from the School’s current IT offerings by allowing these major/minor areas of study with less core IT courses.
